Quiet engineering
Trust begins with disciplined systems.
Vestavero is engineered to protect the integrity of a record before it tries to impress anyone with the machinery beneath it.
01 · Fail closed
Uncertainty does not become permission.
When identity, authority or evidence cannot be established, the system refuses the write. A record may wait; it may not guess.
- 01Explicit authorisation
- 02Deterministic validation
- 03Auditable rejection
02 · Append only
History is added, never silently replaced.
Every accepted event becomes part of the chronology. Corrections point to the entry they refine, preserving the original claim and the reason it changed.
03 · Evidence integrity
A fingerprint for every file.
Cryptographic hashing gives each evidence file a unique mathematical fingerprint. If a document or image changes, its fingerprint changes too—making alteration evident.
04 · Durable storage
Conventional foundations, carefully used.
Structured records are held in PostgreSQL with strict relational constraints, transaction boundaries and redundant backups. Operational clarity matters more than novelty.
05 · Public assurance — planned
Independent proof at the boundary.
Selected record commitments can be anchored to a public ledger, creating an external timestamp and integrity check: a public ledger nobody can quietly rewrite.
Planned capability — described here as future capability, not as a live feature. Verified always means that a record matches the registry; it never means a physical object is authentic. A verified Vestavero record confirms that the digital passport and recorded public history match the configured blockchain record. Physical authenticity depends on the named issuer, grader, verifier, secure-tag process, and physical inspection.
